held in the Memorial Hall, Hazelwood on 23rd January 2014 commencing at 7.30p.m.

57/13/14 Variation of Order of Business
It was deemed unnecessary to alter the Order of Business
58/13/14 Declaration of Members Interests
There was nothing to declare
59/13/14 Public Speaking
Councillor Taylor attended the meeting. He informed council that nothing appeared to be happening at land known as the "Roughs" but it would be wise to keep an eye on anything appearing unusual. He also informed that the Chairman of the Planning Committee had resigned and they were awaiting a new appointment.
With regards to fly tipping in the area he stated that Amber Valley were prompt with any requests for removal of rubbish.
Trees in the village were encroaching over roadways and it was the responsibility of highways to cut back if on the verge. Clerk to contact highways to have an inspection of trees in the village as deliveries to Hazelwood Hall Farm were being impeded.
Mr Heath confirmed that he had cleared the gully in Spring Hollow so that water could run freely and not into the road, the council thank him for this.
60/13/14 Minutes of the last Meeting
Minutes of the council meeting held on the 28h November2013, copies of which had been passed to the Councillors prior to this meeting, were taken as read, approved and signed by the Chairman for accuracy only.
61/13/14 Items for Exclusion
Nothing was deemed necessary for exclusion.
62/13/14 Chairman's Announcements
The Chairman stated that as it was the anniversary of World War 1 this year that it may be an opportunity to have an event to celebrate. Funding is available for his. Also time to have the memorial in the hall cleaned. Clerk to look into.
There is to be another Big Tidy Up, this is to be held March 15th 2014 -

64/13/14 Financial Matters

(d) Parish Precept
It was agreed to keep the Parish Precept at the same figure as last year.
65/13/14 Memorial Hall and Lettings
The widening of the car park entrance requires permission from Amber Valley and Highways with costs to both. This is unlikely to happen. Plans have been prepared for the next alterations to the hall, this would create new storage and a small meeting room. After a preliminary meeting with the architect an open meeting would be planned to ask their opinion.
The hall is looking tired and in need of walls to be cleaned and painted. Clerk to obtain quotes to this effect.
66/13/14 Planning and Licensing Matters
AVA/2014/0004 Replacement of conservatory to rear elevation, removal and replacement of porch to front elevation and replacement external store to side elevation for AndrewBevan Yew Tree Cottage, 64 Ashbourne Road, Shottlegate, Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 2LE
67/13/14 Neighbourhood Planning
A meeting was held on 17th January 2014 to smooth out some of the issues. An open meeting will be held on 20th February 2014 to go through the progress made so far. A notice will be placed in the Parish magazine encouraging people to attend and leaflets distributed to this effect. Results of the questionnaire will be given.
It appears that a major point is to keep the quiet rural area with limited development as it is.
